  • Upcoming 4th year college students (in a 4-year study) and upcoming 3rd year master students (in a 3-year study) with target graduation date in 2024
  • Major in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, Communication Engineering, Controlling Engineer or Systems Engineering or related field at time of application
  • Having a good command and experiment of instruments such as oscilloscope, multi-meter, soldering iron, DC-DC power, e-loading
  • Good understanding of simple schematic connection, such as I2C, I2S, USB.
  • Have a good knowledge of the basic EE part/IC, such as resistor/capacitor/inductor/MOS/transistor, and can read/understand the datasheet of EE part/IC
  • Positive attitude and eager to learn/ask
  • Working proficiency in English
As a Hardware Development Engineer intern, you will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive and design innovative consumer products. You will work closely with an internal inter-disciplinary team, and outside partners to drive key aspects of product definition, execution, and test. As part of a project team you will support the design, debug, validation and optimization of the products. You will be involved in projects from concept through production, gaining exposure to the complete design lifecycle. You will also support engineering builds gaining experience with high volume manufacturing.
In addition to working on an impactful project, you will have the opportunity to engage with Amazonians for both personal and professional development, expand your network, and participate in activities with other interns throughout your internship.

To qualify, applicants should be upcoming 4th year college students (in a 4-year study) and upcoming 3rd year master students (in a 3-year study) with target graduation date in 2024.
Time: 3-month summer camp from June, 2023 to August, 2023
Location: Shenzhen

Key job responsibilities
  • Learn and become familiar with Amazon hardware development process
  • Working with In-region EE to review designs for new products and improving existing designs
  • Work closely with Hardware Engineering teams as well as suppliers to support development lifecycle
  • Work on a specific project assigned by the business team
  • Work with supplier EE to do simple EE troubleshooting and failure analysis, track and collect data as requested by mentor.
  • Attend AMZ technical trainings
  • Other daily tasks assigned by the hiring manager/technical mentor
  • Previous EE internship(s) or EE-related project experience.
  • Knowledge of electronic components, design validation, qualification, and analysis
  • Experience of designing and simulating the circuit by using EDA software such as Mentor/AD/Cadence/LTSPICE.
  • Performing calculations to determine how much current PCB trace can carry or how much voltage is required to power an electrical device
  • Collecting data through experiments or research to identify solutions to problems in electrical engineering
  • Learn fast, clear logic and have a good problem-solving methodology.
  • Ability to effectively express technical challenges and solutions.
  • Adept at handling ambiguous or undefined problems as well as ability to think abstractly.
  • Great written and oral communication skills
